Daywise Tour Itinerary (09 Days)

After arriving at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted and welcomed by our agent’s representative and will escort you to your hotel in Paro city. Check-in to the hotel and refresh before setting out for National Museum of Bhutan, Ta Dzong, it used to be watch tower built to defend RinpungDzong during inter-valley wars of 17th century. Then visit RinpungDzong, built-in 1646 by ZhbadrungNgawangNamgyal, the spiritual ruler of Bhutan. It houses the monastic body of ParoAirport View Point.

Spend the rest of the time at leisure and return to your hotel and rest well for the adventurous trek ahead.

After the breakfast, get ready for the adventurous trek to ParoTaktshang, well known as “Tiger’s Nest.” While the hike seems to be hard, it’s very rewarding. If you don’t feel so strong, you can climb just halfway to cafeteria with a nice view of the place or enjoy the guided pony ride (Extra charge). You can consider climbing in the morning or early afternoon depending on weather, your fitness and preferences. If you like, you can also take the Bhutanese dress for a hike, to make memorable photos on the way! The rest day in leisure or optional program as per your preferences. The Tiger’s nest is prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and monastery precariously perched on the cliff 900 meters off of the ground. On an average, it takes between 4 to 5 hours to do the round trip hike. Check-in at the hotel and then spend time at leisure. The second day’s itinerary ends with a cozy overnight stay at the hotel.

After the breakfast, our agent’s representative will escort you to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Paro to Thimphu is approximately 1-hour journey by road. The journey to Thimphu offers the picturesque views of the surrounding landscape and some of the historical monuments. One such monument being TamchogGonpa. It is a temple that is dedicated to the 13th-century saint ThangthongGyalpo, iron bridge builder. This temple is located across the river from Paro to Thimphu. In order to get to the temple, one must cross an iron chain bridge, one of the few remaining of the many that ThangthongGyalpo built. As you reach to Thimphu, our representative will escort you to your hotel, check-in, and refresh. Meanwhile, the Driver will process all the permit formalities to travel to Punakha the following day. You require a separate route permit because Punakha is considered a sacred place and used to be the capital city of Bhutan until 1955.

Now, we will set out for first sightseeing at National Memorial Chorten which was built in the memory of Third King of Bhutan and it’s dedicated to World Peace. Buddha Dordenma which is gigantic Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan. You will visit Takin reserve center, a large fenced enclosure in Motithang. Takin is the national animal of Bhutan (Budorcastaxicolor) which is believed to be made up of an ox, the antelope, a sheep, and a goat. It is rare and endemic to the eastern Himalayas.

After the happening day, spend the rest of time at leisure. Go out and stroll on the streets with the option to shop at Norzin Lam Craft Stalls, It's the single best place in Thimphu to shop for crafts, with stalls selling traditional crafts from embroidered boots to handmade paper. As the day ends, come back to the hotel and sleep off the night.

After the breakfast, proceed to the immigration office to process the route permit to travel to Phobjikha. The Phobjikha valley is popular for its scenic splendor and cultural uniqueness. The valley is rich in faunal biodiversity and has globally threatened black-necked cranes. Visit Black-Necked Crane Center on the same day.

The sightseeing on the way to Phobjikha is Dochula Pass which is a mountain pass at 3100m with 108 memorial Chorten or stupas that was built in honor of the 108 Bhutanese soldiers who died in 2003 military operation. Other Sightseeing on the way includes WangdiPhodrandDzong and GangteyGoenpa. Overnight at Phobjikha.

Phobjikha to Bumthang is 163.4 km which is 6 h 18 mins drive via Trongsa.

Trongsa forms the central hub of the nation and it’s historically the place from where attempts at unifying the country were launched.  Both His Majesty King UgyenWangchuck, the Penlop of Trongsa, who was elected the country’s first hereditary monarch and his successor, King Jigme Wangchuck, ruled the country from Trongsa ancient seats. The crown prince of Bhutan normally holds the position of TrongsaPenlop prior to ascending the throne, including the present King. The entire landscape around Trongsa is spectacular.

The sightseeing on the way is TrongsaDzong.TrongsaDzong used to be the seat of power over central and eastern Bhutan. Both the First and Second King ruled the country from this ancient seat. It is built on many levels into the side of the hill and can be seen from every approach to Trongsa heralding its strength as a defensive stronghold. The drive from Trongsa to Bumthang takes about 2 hours.

Overnight at Bumthang.

Bumthang is one of the richest endowed districts in terms of historical and spiritual legacy. Some of Bhutan’s oldest and most venerated temples are found in Bumthang. Bumthang is also called as Switzerland of Bhutan.

Sightseeing in Bumthang is JambayLakhang. This monastery was built in the 7th century by Tibetan King, SongstenGampo. It is one of the 108 monasteries built by him to subdue evils spirits in the Himalayan region. Kurjelakhang is situated before JambayLakhang consisting of three temples. The one on the right was built in 1652 on the rock face where Guru Rinpoche in the 8th century. The second temple is built on the site of a cave containing a rock with the imprint of Guru’s body and it’s therefore considered most holy. The third temple was built in the 1990s. These three temples are surrounded by a 108 Cornwall. The sightseeing isJakarDzong which is now used as the administrative center for Bumthang valley, and houses the regional monk body.Mebartsho( The Burning Lake) in Tang valley is a wide spot on the Tang Chhu and it's considered to be one of the greatest pilgrimage sites of Bhutan. Pema Lingpa found several of Guru Rinpoche's hidden treasures here. The guests can also visit Ura Valley, TamshingLakhang, TangbiGoemba, KonchogsumLakhang, ChankharLakhang, and many other monasteries. Overnight at Bumthang

Bumthang to Punakha is 217.7 km with the approximate drive of 7h 44 minutes. Upon reaching Punakha, the guest can check-in to the hotel, freshen up and set out for the first sightseeing at PunakhaDzong (fortress). Then visit ChhimiLakhang/Monastery which is also called as the Fertility Temple. ThisMonastery is renowned throughout Bhutan as a fertility inducing magnet, pledging that who all wish to conceive will find guidance at the temple. The last sightseeing point in Punakha is suspension Bridge which is the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan.

Overnight at Punakha

Wake up to the hearty breakfast and get ready to travel back to Paro, another beautiful valley with lots of stories to tell. On the way, you can stop at bird’s eye viewpoint and by the riverside of Pa-Chhu. Visit the oldest temple in Bhutan called KichuLakhang. It was built in 7th Century by Tibetan King. Visit DRukgyelDzong.

Upon reaching Paro you can check-in at the hotel, refresh and have an expletory walk around the Main Markets. Comfortable overnight stay at Hotel.

After the breakfast, pack your luggage, and prepare to check out from the hotel. Our representative will escort you to the Paro International Airport from where you can board your flight back home. Your trip to Bhutan may have ended but the lovely memories you made will stay in your heart forever.

Booking & Cancellation Policy

Please note – Irrespective of above mentioned cancellations slabs – in case of cancellation of tour services after the booking is made with us – a minimum 10% service charges would be applicable.

In case you cancel the trip after commencement refund would be restricted to a limited amount that too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation and missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.
