Chorten Kora

Modeled after Boudhanath Stupa of Nepal; it’s a Chorten which speaks of Buddhist culture in every sense. It is in this place that world famous Dapka Kkora festival is celebrated on 15th day of the 3rd month or February 28th – 15th March; Huge gathering covers the large white spread in front of the Chorten to see this festival. It is said that it was built by Lama Ngawang Loday. It is here where demon was subdued and that it why chorten kora has got so much importance.

Zorig Chusum

It is a popular and an exotic place to see in Bhutan. If you are one of them who would love to explore the culture and the land of Bhutan, this is the place to be. This Institute of 13 Arts and Craft offers a good insight into Bhutanese woodwork and paper-making. Traditional wooden bowls, Bhutanese masks are what is must be seen.

Bomdeling Wildlife Sanctuary

It is located in the north western part of the kingdom andis amazingly huge, covering an area of about 1,545 sq. km. This place is home with wild animals like red pandas, Himalayan black bears, barking deers, black – necked cranes, tigers and leopards. It’s a good idea to spend some days in Trashiyangtse, Bhutan. Trashiyangtse Dzong

Trashiyangtse Dzong meaning ‘Fortress of Auspicious Fortune’, was re-built in 1656 by Terton Pema Lingpa from the ruins of Dongdi Dzong of 9th century. It was further renovated and sanctified by a sacred consecration ceremony in 2005.

Bomdelling

A pleasant walk of about three hours from Chorten Kora, Bomdeling is an annual migration place for black-necked craens, which fly over from nearby Tibet to pass the winter months in a warmer climate.
